Day 10 – A photo of your favorite place to eat

My sister and I are much in love with the concept of diners, breakfast food and vintage, that’s why even though I am vocal about loving a lot of restaurants that I’ve tried, my heart belongs to Butter Diner in Cubao. And since I’m quite lazy to elaborate about this photo [which by the way, grabbed from somewhere], I’ll just let you guys try out their cheap but yummy offerings and you’ll understand why I’m too in love with this diner. :D

Gelai’s creamy chicken a la king

Here’s my version of the famous chicken a la king, only cheaper and less complicated to prepare. This dish is good for 5-7 servings, depending on your appetite. LOL.
Ingredients:
1/2 chicken breast, cleaned and deboned, cut into small pieces
1/4 cup salted butter
1 medium white onion, minced
1 big carrot
1 cup green peas or sliced mushrooms
1 cup evaporated milk
4 tsps cornstarch, dissolved in 2 cups water
1 pack Maggi Magic Sarap or Aji Ginisa mix [for added kick]
1 cup grated cheese (optional)
salt and pepper to taste
Procedure:
1. Melt butter in medium heat
2. Add onions until they appear a bit transparent
3. Add chicken, special seasoning [magic sarap or ginisa], salt and pepper, then mix a bit
4. Cover pot for 5 to 10 minutes or until chicken is cooked
5. Add carrots, green peas or mushrooms
5. Afterwards, add evaporated milk and cornstarch solution. Mix well.
6. Let the ingredients simmer for another five minutes or until sauce is thick
7. There you have it. :) OR you can add more salt or cheese if you want. LOL.
